Not one single Christian denomination owns our Lord's Vineyard!
The Vatican is not mediaeval, it's prehistoric and the Church of England is not just in crisis, it's close to another great schism. There is no better time than now for us all to work together - but there has to be a shift in their priorities and it has to be rapid. If any global organisation was failing as spectacularly as the mainstream churches are there would be a public and political demand for a radical change of leadership.

There will come a time, and we pray it is sooner rather than later, when all Christian denominations will realise that they must come together with one heart, putting aside their theological differences and learn to rethink their human prejudices. If this does not happen, Christianity within an increasingly changing world will cease to exist as we know it. Not only is there plenty of room for us all, in this day and age of atheism and secularism, there is also plenty of need.

In its broadest sense, Ecumenism is the religious initiative towards worldwide Christian unity. It is the promotion of co-operation and improved understanding between religious groups. Those who participate to the Ecumenical movement are doing this not as individuals - but as whole groups speaking with one voice. All of us in the ECC+C pray for unity in the Church of God and so strive towards recreating the universal Church set in the world two thousand years ago so that humanity may once more, share the gospel, equally. We strive towards moving away from exclusive doctrine, the sickening sense of superiority (some describe this to us as stuffiness) often present in some clergy - and man-made canon law. Men and women in Holy Orders must be dignified of course - but they must start to work out the difference between being dignified in Christ's Name and being inaccessible and unapproachable in theirs.

So where does that leave our doctrines and what is the difference between being Ecumenical and giving an Apology? Well, our own 'Apologetics' are there to give an intelligent and Christ-centred reason for what we believe. We hope that our Apologetics offer everyone a real insight into what we as Ecumenical Anglican-Catholics and more particularly, the ECC+C, believe - and why we have left our respective mainstream and non mainstream Churches to get our message out there.

The global Christian Church (forget denominations here) has a duty, if not obligation, to continue the ministry of Jesus Christ which He Himself passed on to us via his disciples. Not personal opinions wrapped around biased translations - but pure gospel teachings.

“Make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” Matthew 28

The worldwide Ecumenical Catholic Church, born out of the Utrecht Union of Old Catholic Bishops in the 19th century and so independent of Rome, is now widely recognised as a serious alternative faith home for disillusioned or disenfranchised Catholics and Anglo-Catholics who just want to return to the simple and original path of Christian discipleship as taught by the first ever (early) Christian Church.

Ecumenical Catholics have an ancient faith but place within it, a modern day relevance to those seeking a spiritual life in Christ. Please roam around our website and learn a little more about our ministry and mission. Ecumenical Catholicism is fast growing in numbers throughout the world because combines the original Christian faith with outstretched arms towards every other denomination. There will come a time, and we pray it is sooner rather than later, when all Christian denominations will realise that they must come together with one heart, putting aside their theological differences and learn to rethink their human prejudices. If this does not happen, Christianity within an increasingly secular and changing world, will cease to exist as we know it.

The Ecumenical Community Church (part of the IECC) hold to the integrity of the Faith Catholic, independent of Rome and Lambeth, but always respecting all other Faith Traditions. As we remain to the best of our ability faithful to the Catholic teaching of the Apostolic Church we also recognize our fellow sisters and brothers of other traditions remain true to their understanding of Word and Sacrament. We make no judgement on others who may differ from us and we accept the Seven Sacraments and the Apostles and Nicene Creed. We hold to the ancient Catholic teaching of the Communion of the Saints which we see as one of the essentials of our understanding of what it is to be 'Catholic' and we respect the historical centres of the Church.

Jesus prayed a prayer at the end of his earthly life that has yet to be answered. At his last supper with His disciples He prayed for all who would believe in him.

"That they may all be one; even as Thou, Father, art in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be in Us; that the world may believe that Thou didst send Me." John 17:21
