Please, can you help these dogs live?
Doris Banham Dog Rescue - Registered Charity Number 1103372

Rescue Pet is under great pressure to save the lives of dogs. We have a large number of dogs rescued from council pounds and placed into kennels. These dogs would otherwise have been put to sleep because the councils can and will destroy them.

This reality is one we have been fighting against now for years. However as often is the case, we don't have enough money to sustain the lives of the dogs we have rescued and continue to rescue those dogs constantly being taken into council pounds.

Dogs in these pounds can get put to sleep 7 days after being handed in.

As an organisation desperate to save the lives of so many animals, we are trying to achieve the following:

1) Access further funding through grants and public donations to continue paying for the kenneling and day to day care of the animals. As we are volunteers there are no staffing expenses.

2) Move dogs out into other rescue centres - this is were Rev'd Caroline gets involved in the most - as she contacts existing animal shelters and asks if they can take any dogs in.
3) Re-home the dogs we have. We do this routinely but we need idenitify more lovong families to come forward.
4) Get more volunteers involved - details can be found in the appeal.

There are some statistics here about the number of dogs getting killed in council pounds:

Most of the dogs that need help are Staffies which is why Rev'd Caroline and all
those with whom she works created the Staffy Campaign.
