Marriage & Divorce

We believe that the Sacrament of Marriage is a Holy Covenant or blessed union of two people in love and who want to enter into a life-long and faithful union and must be witnessed by the Church.

If such a union is entered into without impediment this union is for life and for the mutual enjoyment, support, trust and commitment of both persons as an expression of love not only between each other but also as a reflection and manifestation of the Source of All Love being the Triune God who creates and sustains all.

We believe that to break this holy covenant by entering into an extramarital affair is to commit adultery and adultery does injury and harm to the persons, the union of the partners and the offspring (if there are any) of such a union.

Divorce is the last resort for a marital relationship that is harming each individual's spiritual, emotional and/or physical health. We do not condone divorce nor do we judge it. We accept not all relationships work for the common good but would attempt to reconcile each party if it was requested of us. We also believe that if the relationship has born children, that the children's emotional and spirtitual welfare is paramount and takes presidence over any adult issue involved.
